About the Robot

Da Vinci robotic surgical system is meticulously designed to perform complex surgeries with a minimally invasive approach. Da Vinci’s extraordinary ability offers greater precision and accuracy to medical treatments across various specialities.

It provides surgeons a higher-resolution vision enabling greater control and command.

This cutting edge technology is used in several specialities and ensures successful patient outcomes. Sohana Hospital leverages Da Vinci Surgical System Xi that features finer robotic arms that warrants an accurate range of motion on patients who are diagnosed with cervix cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, uterus cancer, colon/rectum cancer, urological problems as well as heart diseases and fibroids.

Uses of the Robot

Urologic Surgery

Robot assisted approach is used for all urological procedures associated with the prostate, bladder and kidney. Prostatectomy, Nephrectomy, Pyeloplasty, Cyst Removal, Cystectomy, Ureteral Implantation.

Cardiac Surgery

A minimally invasive approach may be used for some heart conditions involving the left atrium and right atrium, left and right ventricles, the tricuspid, pulmonary, mitral and aortic valves. Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) & Mitral Valve Repair.

Thoracic (Chest) Surgery

Robotic Assisted Surgical option for conditions of the chest, lungs, esophagus, or the thymus gland. Lung biopsy, Lung surgery, Mediastinal Mass Resection , Thymectomy.

Gastroenterological & General Surgeries

This Robot covers many types of General Surgical procedures such as hernia repairs, gallbladder removal surgery, gallstone removal surgery, bariatric surgery, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and liver and pancreatic surgery, Acid reflux disease surgery, Gastrectomy, Small bowel surgery, Spleen surgery.

Cancer Surgery

Da Vinci Surgical Robot enables Cancer Surgeons to perform minimally invasive robotic surgeries for Prostate cancer, Stomach cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Liver cancer, Colorectal cancer, Head and neck cancer and gynecologic cancers.

Colorectal Surgery

The Da Vinci Surgical Robot with its long-handled arms and high definition camera, performs surgeries related to the colon, specifically Colon resection surgery, Rectal resection surgery and Rectopexy.

Gynecological Surgery

Da Vinci robotic surgery helps Gynae surgeons perform Hysterectomy, Myomectomy, Pelvic Organ Prolapse Surgery, Endometriosis resection with lesser scarring, lesser post op risk and minimal pain to the patient.

How does the Robot work?

Our Da Vinci Surgical System interprets the surgeon’s hand movements in real time while performing the procedure. The instruments carry out movements as performed by the surgeon on the patient. Its high resolution 3D cameras also produce images which allow the surgical site to be unmistakably vivid and realistic.

Features of the Robot

Surgeon's Console

Placement of console where the surgeon controls the surgical robotic arms while viewing the surgical site.

Patient Cart

Holds the camera and instruments that the surgeon controls from the console.

Vision Cart
