Tips To Have A Flawless Skin This Summer

April 22, 2021

Good health and glowing skin is one thing we all want throughout our lives. However, it becomes challenging to keep that skin constantly glowing, especially during summers. As hot and sultry weather arrives, it calls for deep pore cleansing of the skin. It is important to know that skin cleansing should be made a priority during summers by taking a shower twice everyday so that the pores do not have clogged dirt and oil. You must also know that normal to dry skin requires a cleansing gel or foam, whereas a combination or an oily skin has to be cleansed with cleansing lotion or milk.

If you have pimple prone skin, then it is suggested that you use medicated cleansers. You are advised to use cleansing scrub or grains along with a skin toner and rub the same in circular motion on your face.

Here is a homemade recipe for you-

Mix 4 to 5 tbsp of gram flour, turmeric, few drops of rose water and milk or yoghurt. Keep mixing till the mixture becomes a paste. Now use the paste to and exfoliate your face.

Here are few tips that will help you protect your skin and allow it to glow while keeping it disease free.

Protect your skin from Sun

Keep your skin protected from the sun and heat. We suggest you to not go out directly in burning sunlight and try to remain indoors. This is because the sun rays are strong and may adversely affect your skin. The ultraviolet (UV) rays may result in premature ageing of the skin causing dry skin, marks, wrinkles, and even skin cancer.

Excessive exposure to sun can harm the eyes and may also result in medical conditions like melanoma and cataract, in addition to resulting in early aging around the eyes.

If you drive a two wheeler we suggest you to wear long gloves to avoid your arms from getting tan. Also, consider applying a sunscreen with SPF >30 (30 minutes before you step out). To make sure that you are well protected, consider applying the sunscreen repeatedly.

Avoid wearing dark colours and synthetic fabric. We suggest you wear loose cotton, light-coloured clothes. Wearing light colours & cotton clothes will allow your skin to breathe properly. You might need a much thicker layer of sunscreen/higher SPF to protect your skin, if you are on a holiday by the sea. This is because the glare of the sun seems to be double as the reflection from the sea accentuates the glare.

Stay Moisturised

During the summer season, our body loses a lot of moisture. Therefore, it is important to retain the moisture by consuming liquids and water.

Consuming juices extracted from watermelon and cucumber helps keep the skin moisturized and soft. Also, make it a habit and apply either a cold cream or a good water-based lip to avoid chapped lips.

You can use rose water to tone and moisturise as it is famously known to be an effective toner-cum-moisturiser.

A pro tip: Always consume a healthy & balanced diet, exercise everyday and get enough & sound sleep. Avoid aerated drinks since they are so full of sugar in them. Instead, consider drinking fresh lime, fruit juices, and coconut water to stay hydrated. It is also best to cut on the consumption of alcohol and caffeine since they result in dehydration.
